The Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens) is indigenous to
the Pacific Ocean around the Hawai段an Islands.

The Yellow Tang has always been very popular and readily
available to marine aquarists.

For some time now, some residents of the Hawai段an Islands
and others have been concerned about the collection of
Yellow Tangs.
It is not unusual, in Hawai段, to see an individual wearing
a shirt that has "Save the Yellow Tang" printed on it.
There is proposed legislation in Hawai段 right now that
could drastically restrict the collection of Yellow Tangs
in the future.

If this legislation passes, as proposed, a collector may
only take 5 Yellow Tangs per day. In addition, other
species, such as the Sohal Tang, now collected for the
marine aquarium trade could become restricted as well.
Given the cost of fuel and labor costs in Hawai段,
it could become completely unrealistic for divers to
continue to collect Yellow Tangs if this legislation
passes.

We, at Countryside Aquariums, want to bring this
information regarding Yellow Tangs to your attention so you
are aware that Yellow Tangs could become scare and very
highly priced in the future. At the present time, we still
are able to offer Yellow Tangs to our customers at
reasonable prices.

We will keep you posted regarding any developments
regarding Yellow Tangs and other fish from the Hawai段an
Islands.
